Mystic, CT a Day Trip!

When I begin to think about Mystic, CT the first thing that comes to mind is the Mystic Pizza movie. I think that is what most of us think about. Visiting Mystic,Ct is a wonderful experience that the whole family can enjoy. The movie alone brings swarms of people to visit. Its is a beautiful place to spend the day. It is also a great place to visit with your family.

Start Your day off at Old Mystic Village. It is located right next door to the Mystic Aquarium. Olde Mystic Village is a quaint village filled with shops, restaurants. and is a true experience. If your little feet are not too tired. Swing next door to the Mystic Aquarium. The mystic Aquarium is well known. It is home to great animals and has hands on experience for your little ones. The Adult tickets (14-61) is $36.99 Child (3-13) is $26.99 2& under is FREE. Some libraries offer a discount to the aquarium if they are part of the SAILS library network. To see if your library does, click here. Please note that there are restriction on these discount passes. Some passes do require that you return them to the library while others do not. While others you do not have to return. The library passes are also only valid on the day you request the pass for. Please check with the individual location regarding information on the pass. If your library does not offer a pass, don’t be discouraged. Check with other libraries in the area.

Once you are done exploring the aquarium head to downtown Mystic!

Once you are here you can hopefully find a parking spot on the main road. If you are not lucky, try to find parking on one of the side streets. Usually you will have better luck there. Explore the shops along the road. Don’t forget to stop in The Spice and Tea Exchange. Here, you and the children will enjoy trying samples of dips, teas, and spices. Don’t fill up too much. You still have to try the Mystic Pizza.

Finish off your day with dinner at the original Mystic Pizza. Let’s be honest, every kid loves pizza. This is an easy dinner without a fight. Plus it is a local landmark and a movie was based here it’s a great experience. I know what you are probably thinking, it’s probably expensive and not even worth it. To be really honest, their pizza is actually really good. We recommend getting some fried pickles as an appetizer. One specialty pizza they have is Seafood Delight which has shrimp, clams,scallops, garlic and oregano and is delicious as it sounds.
